I'm making watercolour cards, some from failed paintings:

For this one I used part of a painting and heat embosssed a computer generated sentiment.
Another watercolur on Arches 140 lb cold press paper, and a heat embossed computer generated sentiment.

I make a sheet of sentiments on printer paper, then quickly embosss them straight out of the printer while they are still damp.
I read on Melstampz,http://melstampz.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-to-emboss-digital-image-with-matte.html that if that doesn't work, you can spred matte medium or gesso on a piece of paper then print and emboss on any paper without rushing.
