Journal Class

Yesterday I taught 16 lovely ladies in my community art group how to make a journal.
We had so much fun! Most of them had never heard of art journals before.
We used a file folder like Susan Bleiwess' tutorial : Folder Sketchbook, and did the pamphlet stitch.
Then we  painted our pages using gelatos and baby wipes as I learned from the fabulous Terri Kahrs : Backgrounds
I love teaching, and passing on what I've learned.
We had a lot of laughs.
The ladies loved their new art journals.

Feathers

At Trilogy, we were lucky to have Tom, a Native American artist teach us how to make feathers from paper.
He was so helpful and it was great fun.
We cut feathers from watercolour paper, glued a bamboo skewer for strength, and painted them to look realistic.

We put a piece of a white feather on the bottom and leather to look realistic.

                      Happy New Year!

Tangle Class

Last week I taught several Tangle classes.

It is based on Zentangle and was so much fun!
Everyone had a good time and wanted to keep on tangling after the class was over.
We did six patterns then put them together on a tile.

Here are some of the student's work:
