Whirlwind Trip to See the Boys

Since I was living out of suitcases, I thought I might as well travel:)
Alan and I decided to take a quick trip to see our boys.
In two weeks we went to Brooklyn, New York to see Alan's sons, Adam and Seth.

We had wonderful walks and dinners.

Then we spent a week with my son, Trevor in Budapest.
The weather was 70* and gorgeous. We saw several movies and commercials being shot.
Of course we had lovely pastries everyday, and enjoyed their famous duck and sparkling wine.

On the way home we had a night in Helsinki , it was really cold 6* C!

Crafty in Budapest

Today I went  to Ikea in Budapest, it was just like back home, similar prices, but a much nicer cafeteria. I bought Trev some sheets and kitchen items.

So my crafter friends understand I'm missing my crafting, so I was excited to see this.
It was in the kid's department, for children over 3:)LOL
It was only $2.50, with 24 pieces of 8x11 patterned paper, 6 envelopes, 6 frames, and 2 pages of cute cut-outs.

So I made this card for my grand-daughters, thought they'd like it better than a standard postcard.

Sunny Afternoon in Budapest

Today while Trevor is in school I walked all over the shopping district and saw the Danube.

Central Market Hall- a lot like Granville Island, but craft items, salami, and  paprika.

The Danube from the Pest side

Tonight I'll cook dinner and we'll go to the gym.

Happy Thanksgiving from Budapest

To all my Canadian friends and family, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving.
It is a beautiful fall day here, and I love Trevor's apartment. It is modern and bright.
The view from his window and large deck:

It is in the centre of the city overlooking one of the most famous sites in Budapest, The Great Synagogue.

The actor Tony Curtis helped restore it to celebrate his Hungarian roots. He made this sculpture, the Tree of Life.

Today I'm going to walk around the area.
Silly me, I didn't bring my camera, just my iPhone!
I try to travel light, but this was just plain silly, I only forget important items:)
So far no jet lag!

International Swap!

Two of my favourite, talented, blogger friends have organized an International Swap.
In fact, if it wasn't for their encouragement, I wouldn't have started a blog.

Monika Wright from  I Love It All
and Sophie Chapman from French Home Made
They need just a couple more swappers before the cut-off date of October 4th.
Here's the post: International Swap
I hope you'll join in.

I can't wait for the swap, and may mail my package from Europe.
Next week I'm visiting my son, Trevor, who is going to medical school in Budapest, Hungary.

We're planning a visit to Paris the following week.
It happens to be Salon du Chocolate, so those we know me, know I can't miss that!
