I've been so busy with my renovation and picking out fixtures etc, that I've had no time for art.
But, I painted a picture of our sweet Lucy for Alan's birthday.
Do you think it looks like her?

I Love Lucy
On January 15, 2009, Alan and I adopted Lucy.
We went to the Riverside County Shelter in California, and we were shocked to find they had over 120 dogs, and 50 cats. It seems that when people can't care for their pets they just let them loose in the desert to fend for themselves.
I asked the volunteer if she could point us to a nice dog, and she showed us a little sad looking black dog, alone in a cage.
She said she had just walked her, and she was friendly and obedient.
She wagged her tail whenever anyone walked by, and all the workers loved her.
She weighed just 8 pounds and was pregnant. Unfortunately,we were told she was pregnant after the shelter did their mandatory spaying.
Alan promised me she wouldn't go on the furniture or into our bedroom.
Yeah right, she sleeps with us, and has the run of the place:)
Within a few weeks we had her up to 12 pounds. She fit into our lives perfectly, and tried very hard to please us.

Today I put a tiny piece of smoked salmon in her bowl on top of her kibble.
She wolfed down the salmon, and left the kibble.
Then I noticed she left me something on the rug by the kitchen sink.
Do you think she was thanking me?
She gave me kisses all day long!
