Paintings done for Grandchildren for Christmas

For  Christmas this year I made paintings as part of the presents I gave my grand-daughters.
First, I gessoed canvas and collaged the backgrounds with colorful papers.
I used Spackle to add texture, and make the white dresses.
I then printed out an  Effiel Tower photo and this Vintage Fairy one: from The Graphics Fairy wonderful website.
Karen provides the most beautiful vintage photos for free.
I just used my inkjet printer and adhered them with gel medium.
I knew the print would smear a little, so I fixed it with hairspray, before putting gel medium on top.
I then added ribbon for the belts and sparkle with rhinestones and Stickles.
I painted over the background with acrylic paints.
The girls were happy:)

                                                     Happy weekend,

  2. These are really nice. You've given me some ideas for my granddaughters for this coming Christmas! Maybe I can come up with something a little more boyish for the grandsons too! I've been wanting to do this kind of art but haven't found time -- these beautiful pieces inspire me to find time.
